Procedure:

Step 1: After successful downloading both the files given above, extract them in a specific folder. You’ll find the following two files inside the firmware package: Samsung Kies not required, only USB drivers is sufficient for Odin to detect the phone.

IT WORKS WHEN YOUR PHONE IS COMPLETELY ERASED, AS LONG AS YOU GET THE DOWNLOAD SCREEN.

  1. S5570DXKT6_S5570OLBKT3_S5570DXKT4_HOME.tar.md5
  2. SS_DL.dll.

From which, SS_DL.dll is just a script file and is of no use. So ignore it.

Step 2: Firstly Power off your Galaxy Pop completely until it vibrates.

Step 3: You need to enter into downloading mode now. For that, press and hold ‘Home Button (middle button) + Volume down key + Power Button’ simultaneously until a warning message appears (Refer Screenshot). Press Volume Up button to continue. This will land you into downloading mode that is Android working with a shovel.

Step 4:  Keeping your device as it is in downloading mode, connect it to your PC using USB cable. Make sure you’ve installed device specific drivers on PC to detect the phone when connected (As mentioned in pre-requisites).

Step 5: Open ‘Odin Multi Downloader_v4.38‘ which you have just downloaded & extracted on your PC. As soon as you open it, the ID:COM section in it will turn yellow with a random COM PORT number below it. Also an ‘Added’ message will appear in the message box window. If it’s not showing, then check whether you have properly installed those device drivers on your PC or not.

Step 10:  The process will last upto few minutes to complete. As soon as it completes, you’ll see that the ID:COM section on the Odin window is turned blue with the message ‘Pass’ below it. This will confirm that you have properly flashed your Galaxy Pop with 2.3.6 DXKT6 Gingerbread firmware. You can now safely disconnect the phone by disconnecting the USB cable.

Note: If the process fails or if Odin gets stuck or in case your device gets boot loops, then close the Odin window, remove battery from your Galaxy Pop and re-insert it. Again go into downloading mode and follow the same procedure as given above.

Step 11: After successfully completing the process, switch off the phone and boot into recovery mode. For that, keep pressing & holding Home button (Middle button) and Power button simultaneously until the recovery mode appears.

Note: Touch will not work here in recovery mode. So all you need to do is use Volume Up and Volume Down keys for navigation and Home button (Middle button) for selection.

Step 12: On the recovery mode, navigate to the ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ option followed by the ‘Wipe Cache partition’ option & select them to clear all the data and caches from your phone memory. This will solve the boot loops issue.

Step 13: After wiping data/cache you’ll again land into recovery mode. Just select ‘reboot system now’ option to restart the phone.
